The Rumanian national women’s team came back to Laias for a new training camp from the 5th of February to the 11th of March. The goal of this training was prepared the different 2017 rowing events, in particular the European championship in Prague (Czech Republic) in May. The Romanian team whose eight got the bronze medal in the Rio Olympic Game is also looking ahead to the podium of continental competitions. That’s why the rowers get prepared conscientiously in Cerlac, taking advantage of the good training conditions of the Ourense high performance centre which now welcomes the Bielorrusian team until mid-April,

First 2017 training camp in Cerlac for the Great Britain paralympic national team just after the Olympic games in Brazil. There they achieved success climbing the podium four times with 3 gold medals and an other bronze one. Despite being a team with some change the news rowers have acquired great technical level as we have observed during the training camp in Laias. The head coach Tom Dyson said during his stay “this first camp help us to improve the technical and physical training due to the perfect water condition and the possibility to row a lot of kilometers all along the Miño river that helps to stabilize the quality of the rowing crew.”

Eton trains in Laias and said that the Cerlac is among the top three best centers in the world

During the month of January the rowers of the junior team of Eton College were concentrated in Laias, Eton is one of the main English centers in the practice of rowing, it’s enough to say that they own the Olympic tracks of London. Such as the Oxford stay, the training program was carried out according to the objectives, that’s why they have already reserved for January 2018. During the training, one of their coaches commented that, after the experience of this first stay, the Laias Concentration Center could be considered one of the three best in the world.

Oxford trains for the second time in Laias thinking of winning one more time the race against Cambridge.

It’s the second concentration in Laias for the women’s team of Oxford (Light Weights), According to the head coach they fulfill all the goals that they have set, thanks to the climate and the good quality of the water. And there will be a third one, because they have already booked the training for the next season. It should be noted that this team after training in Laias beat last year the Cambridge one in the famous race between both universities.

The British Junior Team returned to training in Laias from 15 to 22 December to outline the team that will participate in the official competitions of the sport season. The training days were favored by excellent weather conditions, as well as by the water quality that the Miño river always presents, thus fulfilling the planned objectives. The British team has already marked its stages of concentration in Laias until 2020, the year of the celebration of the Olympic Games in Tokyo.

Laias Rowing Training Center started sports season with the presence of Shrewsbury School

From 14 to 21 October started the sports season in the Laias Rowing Training Center with the presence of Shrewsbury School, with 39 athletes. During this concentration the English team was looking for set up the composition of the different crews, obtain technical improvements and increase the rowers physical form, according to its trainer, all these challenges have been fulfilled as they had been planned, it’s the reason why the school has already booked a new stay for 2017.

A delegation from the Cerla was present at the Olympic Games in Brazil to maintain contacts with teams from different federations. The main objective was closing agreements for their training camp in the centers of Laias and Arnoia during the new Olympic cycle until the year 2020. Antonio Marques, director of Cerlac, and José Manuel Rodríguez, manager of Inorde, met managers from the federations of France, Belarus, Australia, Mexico, Romania, Canada, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Chile and Brazil.
