Belarus Rowing Team has started their 40 days training camp. All camp will be held in CERLAC where the Belarus Olympic athletes, both female and male, are able to prepare the next international regattas and competitions.  So far, the training periods have been great with superb conditions on the natural course and very good weather.

Australian training camp is going on at CERLAC, in Spain, with the Olympic crews getting ready for the 2015 World Rowing Championships in France. The weather is being great and all the six crews’ are having very good training sessions on the water.

This Australian six weeks training camp here is the last one from this rowing season, before the World Championships, with the CERLAC facilities being tested again. CERLAC staff is already looking forward to the next season, expecting to have more teams during November and December.

CERLAC and SSangyong, a South Korean Motor Company, signed a sponsorship contract on the last 7th April. The deal was settled between Javier Rodriguez from SSangyong, Javier Soto from Caldaria Hotels and Jose Manuel Rodriguez from INORDE.

CERLAC’s staff has now a new SSangyong’s vehicle to answer to all the needs and we all expect that this new partnership will benefit all the parts involved.

In a few weeks the 2015 World Rowing Championships are about to happen on Lake Aiguebelette in France where the crews are looking for their place in Rio 2016 Olympic Games. Our staff from CERLAC will be there to take a look on the races and to promote the training center for high level rowing teams.

After the III World Rowing Cup (10^th to 12^th July) at Lucern, the world rowing teams are getting ready to their qualification for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. That is what going to happen at the 2015 World Rowing Championships on the Lake Aiguebelete, France.

Here in CERLAC, from the 13^th July to 25^th August, the Australian Rowing Team is joining us for their last training camp just before the 2015 World Rowing Championships. After this period, the team is flying directly to France.

The last 5th of April the English school Borlase began its training camp in Cerlac, Borlase is one of many colleges practicing rowing in Britain. After the first contact made with the team’s head coach, his feeling was very positive, highlighting the quality of the Miño River with a very quiet and still water and the efficiency of the services provided in the hotel Laias. By the way, after the first training done in the Laias center they booked new dates for April 2016.

From 25th Januray to 11th February the Dutch National Team has been training in CERLA.
Even with some rainy days due to a not normal winter in Spain, all training programmes were completed with success and the athletes and staff were very satisfied mainly with the water conditions and the quality of the accommodation.

This was the First Chapter written in CERLAC’s history, with The Netherlands rowers becoming the first athletes. All the staff from CERLA and its board direction were very happy to see that the center has very good conditions and is ready to host many other teams.

On the next few days, beginning on the 20th February, it is time to conclude the last issues to host Belarus National Rowing Team and to improve details with this first experience.

In July 2014 the President of Castrelo do Miño Rowing Club and Caldaria Board Direction invited António Rascão Marques (President of the Portuguese Rowing Federation) into a new challenge: to create a new Rowing Center in Spain.

In August 2014, this group went to Amsterdam to the World Rowing Championship to promote CERLAC – Centro de Entrenamiento de Remo de Laias, Arnoia e Castrelo. After this promotion there were a great number of teams and rowing clubs interested on this new project. The Netherlands became the first rowing team training at CERLA.

In the future, we’re expecting to host the Belarus National Team during a 40 days training camp followed for the British College Sir. William Borlase Grammar School. Also, in the summer, we’re expecting Australia Rowing Team just before the World Rowing Championship in France.

CERLA’s vision is to become one of the best Rowing Training Center where every team can train, complete their training programmes and test their performance.
